After a 10 hour bus ride and a 3 hour ferry ride we arrived in Koh Tao. Some people took advantage of the travel time and the day off to get some sleep before the pub crawl.
Some of us went exploring, the other five of us went paddle boarding. Three of the girls had never gone before so it was quiet the experience for them to try that for the first time in the ocean. Tye and I had gone before but to do it in the ocean in the waves was so exciting! He was doing headstands and I was jumping off into the deep water. It was an incredible experience, one of those bucket list sort of activities.
After paddle boarding we grabbed some food and then it was time to get ready for the Koh Tao Pub Crawl. Being part of LBW is like being VIP on that pub crawl, we ran the show, everyone else was just there to fill the bars. We started at choppers doing shots, dancing and downing buckets. Then we headed out to a pool party, followed by a lady boy cabaret show and then back to choppers for some live music before heading to a party on the beach. The photos the next day on the event page were hilarious, the people working the pub crawl were having just as much fun as the people on the pub crawl.
The next morning we headed out for a “half hour hike” up to see these beautiful views that were definitely worth the gallons of sweat lost to get up there.
You could see everything up there, this island is literally flawless. Then we walked up a little further to a temple where we learned about how instead of having Sunday’s as a spiritual day like we’re used to, the Thai people go off the day of the week they were born.
After a much needed rinse, everyone headed off to freedom bay to go snorkeling. We finished the day with a family dinner and a fire show.
Sunday morning it was our time to give back to this beautiful island. We got in teams and spent an hour picking up garbage off the beaches and streets. It’s concerning how much we found in such a short period of time. But the locals work so hard to keep this place clean. Krystal and I went for a walk along the beach at 7 am Monday and it was disgusting how much trash was out there and the people working there were out picking garbage and sweeping the beaches.
The rest of the day was spent at the Leo bar for the Beer Olympics, it got pretty wild! Those frozen buckets were incredible.
The next day we all got in this cute little taxi boat across to the island of Koh Nang Yuan. Hands down the prettiest place in the world (that I have ever been to). You know when you find a travel page on Instagram and it’s just white sand beaches, palm trees and crystal clear water? Well that’s exactly what Koh Nang Yuan looks like. Big flawless rocks, it feels like we left the real world into a painting.
We spent the day snorkeling, swimming with the fishes and hiking up to the view point there, it was gorgeous!
Now we’re all a lil toasty and on the ferry to Koh Phangan where we get to spend the day at the resort which I’m sure some of us will take advantage of the A/C and recharge but we can also lay out by the pool so who knows!

Hello, my name is Paige Branting. I am 22 and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer from Spruce Grove, Alberta. I enjoy the outdoors, photography, puzzles and of course anything fitness related. I love travel and Thailand will be the sixth country I have been to (seven if you count Vatican City). I booked this trip because my two best friends texted me one day saying “let’s go to Thailand”. I had been working out and getting in shape (lost 55 pounds by the way) and I thought this would be a great reward for all my hard work!
I can’t wait to share this adventure with you all!
