The deepest blue & the greenest green

After leaving Bangkok, the group headed out on a 10 hour adventure to Koh Tao. The beautiful island of Koh Tao, or as I mistakenly pronounced it as Cow Town is by far the best I have been to, so the travel was well worth it.

To begin our amazing five day journey, we started with the Pub Crawl. The Pub Crawl consists of multiple buckets, local bars, live entertainment (including a lady boy show,) amazing people and cool t-shirts. This night was one for the books as this was a great way to explore Koh Tao and meet down to earth people outside of the tour group. Even though we were away from our family and friends on Christmas, everyone on the tour made it a special night. We celebrated Christmas enjoying a family dinner and a fun and interesting game of secret santa. Followed by dinner, everyone enjoyed an amazing night at AC Resort Beach Bar. This was one of those night where the party didn’t stop. Although Koh Tao sounds like it’s been a crazy party during our entire stay it’s also been very scenic and rewarding. On the day of our viewpoint hike it was pouring rain. This made the two hour hike a little more challenging, but well worth it. As we left the town and entered the jungles of Koh Tao we were surrounded by green forestry and tons of coconut trees. Add this view to the sound of the birds chirping and the rainfall in the background and it felt like something out of a movie.

On our last day in Koh Tao we went to their well-known island, Koh Nangyuan. This private island is known best for its breathtaking views, particularly the viewpoint hike. After 15 minutes of walking up steep steps and climbing through rocks we made it. And must I say, wow! You look down from one of the highest rocks in Koh Nangyuan and see a sea of amazing blues and greens. The water is crystal clear and the sand is beautiful. When visiting Koh Tao, I definitely recommend you take the 15 minute long boat ride to this island. Even though it rained during half our stay in Koh Tao, I am so happy LBW included this as one of our stops. From amazing beach parties, to thrilling games of jump rope on fire and rewarding hikes, Koh Tao has some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. I promise Koh Tao will leave you in aw. Next stop, Koh Phangan.
