Rio De Janerio

I fell in love with this place, the moment I looked out the plane window as it started descending. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. The land was full of lush, green mountains and Rio De Janeiro was situated in them. All my worries subsided.

As a first time solo traveller, being away from home for so long didn’t seem to matter anymore. All I felt was pure excitement for what was ahead. The first day was just kind of a chill day. I met the rest of my group, and we chilled on the beach and drank Brazil’s national drink.. The Caipirinha. Feb 22, I decided to take the plunge and go hang gliding. I was so afraid, but I’m so glad that I did it. It’s an absolute amazing feeling to be soaring through the sky over such a breathtaking city. It’s the closest you’ll ever get to feeling like a bird.

The views from sugarloaf and the Christ the Redeemer were absolutely incredible. There’s something about being in the clouds that makes you feel like you’re in heaven. The world is truly an amazing place and being here has made me so much more excited for future travel endeavours. While watching the sun set from sugarloaf, I was in such awe. All I could think was “wow.. This is amazing.” I felt so in touch with my inner self. Finally, the highlight of our stay in Rio was staying up to watch the sun rise after a crazy boat party. It was such a magical experience. I felt so high on life. I felt like that was exactly where I needed to be. I’ve never felt more alive or more free. While the city was asleep, we had the beach to ourselves, blasting music, singing, dancing.. Just truly living in that single moment. The only thing that mattered was being there and making memories to last a lifetime.
